Flamenco
From traditional choreographies to modern arrangements, two female dancers, one male dancer, two guitarists, one percussionist as well as a saxophonist convey an insight into a culture made of the impulsive expression of emotions in powerful beauty.
Flamenco is world music. In the wake of the expulsion of gypsies who had settled in India, this culture wandered in the second half of the 15th century along the Mediterranean coast until finally it reached Spain, where it mixed with the folk music there. Already before this, it had been strongly influenced, especially by elements of moorish and jewish song and dance; the rhythmic variety of flamenco, however, can also be traced to South American music.
